Hey guys and girls!
As many of you already know the young team I talked about before, the Washington Capitals have been eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs. The reason for this is the superior goaltending of Jaraslov Halak of the Montreal Canadiens. Some wonder what went wrong, why couldn't we do it? The real question is did they really play a horrible game or was the bionic goalie just too good for us? Watching the Washington Capitals for the past year has been incredible and invigorating. Washington DC has become a hockey town and there is nothing wrong with that. The thing now is that we will see who are the true fans and who just wants to watch the winning team, no longer us.
On a different note, I saw the players at practice Wednesday morning and they all seemed to be in good spirits on the ice but when they came down to there cars their attitudes seemed to be somewhat different than that. Mike Green who always is willing to sign autographs for his fans declined and had a somewhat disappointed look about his face. Could this have been a sign that they had already given up? One will never know i suppose. One thing is for sure that this team has the strongest bond inside the locker room and outside the office. These guys hang out with each other as not too many of the other teams do. Only a defeat like this will tell us how strong they really are. Will they rally or give up? Guess we will find out next season...
