development camp day 3

SO.. Camp day three.
Well as of right now I am sitting in the ice rink on the floor watching group A do their stuff. The guys in group B stand on the other side of the rink and watch to see what will probably be their future day. It's cool to see how the younger guys in group B watch the older guys to see what they are doing and how they are doing it. These guys may have only been together for three days so far but you can tell they have a bond. OK sidetrack... they are standing in front of me while im typing and its reallly strange i feel so awkward typing and typing while they are just standing there watching me type.. haha well thats it for now check back in later!

Capitals Development Camp day 1

So today was the first day of camp for the sought after Capitals prospects. Among the Prospects were already signed Zach Miskovic, Dustin Stevenson, Jake Hauswirth, and Trevor Bruess. I got to see them practice this morning and they were good choices on our part from what I can see. A couple of younger players that stood out to me were Caleb Herbert and Stanislav Galiev. Caleb Herbert was able to keep the puck away from just about anyone! And Stanislav was swift but had a lot of power when he skated. Overall the first day of camp was a success.
On another note, I ran into GM George Mcphee in the elevator, this was my first encounter with him and he seemed to be a very nice man. We discussed Varly's change of numbers and why he allowed him to do it. According to Mcphee the only reason he allowed Varly to switch his number from 40 to 1 is because that was his number in Russia and he claimed it would make him play better. When you're the GM of the Capitals, you get to make hard decisions like that.

Have a great week and make sure to get to Kettler!!!!
